AGQM elects new Board of Directors
On the occasion of their General Assembly in Berlin on 6 November 2015, the members of AGQM (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Qualitaetsmanagement Biodiesel e.V.) elected their new Board of Directors.
Following the resignation of Chairman Dr Juergen Fischer (then ADM Research GmbH) last April, Deputy Chairman Dr Georg Pollert was elected interim Chairman from among the Board. Now the General Assembly properly elected him next Chairman of the Board. Mr Rolf Sieber (SBE BioEnergie Handelsgesellschaft mbH) was confirmed in his office as Deputy Chairman and Dr Ruediger Brautzsch (Cargill GmbH) was elected second Deputy Chairman.
The AGQM members also confirmed Dr Frank Kohl (NEW Energy West GmbH), Mr Elmar Baumann (VDB, Verband der Deutschen Biokraftstoffindustrie e.V.), and Mr Henning Bohne (Louis Dreyfus Commodities Wittenberg GmbH) as members of the Board. Mr Jeremie Groos (ADM Research GmbH) was voted on the Board as new member.
In 1999 AGQM was founded by leading Biodiesel producers and traders as an initiative to assure the quality of their products. Currently 14 Biodiesel producers are AGQM members with a production capacity of 2.9 mio t/a. From the very start AGQM’s main task was the assurance of the Biodiesel quality in Germany. Among other measures for that purpose, AGQM carries out unannounced member samplings and audits and organises a Round Robin Test for Biodiesel and vegetable oil in cooperation with FAM (Fachausschuss für Mineraloel- und Brennstoff-Normung). AGQM also organises the testing and suitability of additives for Biodiesel. In addition AGQM is strongly involved in the national and international standardisation of fuels and there are joint projects on Biodiesel with the mineral oil and automotive industries as well as with research institutes.
