AGQM No-Harm Test 2019 – Register now!
Association Quality Management Biodiesel (AGQM) is testing Antioxidants for biodiesel for their safe use. Registration for the next no-harm test round will be open until 11 October 2019.
To achieve an oxidation stability of 8 hours which is required in the standard EN 14214 antioxidants are typically added to biodiesel. When using additives, special care must be taken to ensure that negative interactions with the fuel and its additives are excluded. Association Quality Management Biodiesel (AGQM) in cooperation with the mineral oil industry has developed two demanding test procedures to ensure a safe admixture of additives into biodiesel.
The test procedure of antioxidants for biodiesel as diesel fuel component provides for the verification of minimum requirements, an interaction test and the determination of the relative efficiency of the antioxidant compared to BHT (butylhydroxytoluene) in pure biodiesel fuel. In addition, the engine oil compatibility (DGMK 531-1), the filtration properties (DGMK 663) and a nozzle fouling engine test (XUD9, CEC F-23-1-01) in B10 fuel are examined.
The antioxidants for biodiesel as a blend component to heating oil are investigated in the second test procedure in a B20 fuel. The minimum requirements are extended and the interaction test is tightened, while at the same time eliminating the test for engine oil compatibility and the engine test in the heating oil sector.
The registration for testing your antioxidant can be done under info@agqm biodiesel.de until 11th October 2019. On the AGQM website you will find the lists of all products that have been tested positively so far and the possibility to obtain the detailed test report of all successful products.
