Milestone - 25 years of AGQM
On 6 December 1999 - 25 years ago - the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Qualitätsmanagement Biodiesel e.V. (AGQM) was founded by the ten founding members Oelmühle Leer Connemann GmbH & Co, Union zur Förderung von Oel- und Proteinpflanzen e.V., CAMPA-Biodiesel GmbH & Co, SISAS GmbH, Ölmühle Bruck, Saarberg Bio-Energie Handelsgesellschaft mbH, Landwirtschaftliche Produkt Verarbeitungs GmbH, LUT Labor- und Umwelttechnik GmbH, Raiffeisen-Warenzentrale Rhein-Main eG and BIO-Diesel Wittenberge GmbH in Bonn. AGQM quickly established itself as an important player in the field of quality assurance and technology for biodiesel and its co-products.
After a very short time, a quality management system (QM system) was created to support all members in advancing and improving their own quality assurance on site. Over the years, further quality assurance programmes have been added, ranging from round robin tests, seminars and quality check materials to laboratory coaching sessions, which are not only available to members but are open to all interested parties. In the field of technology, projects are continuously developed and supported in order to demonstrate how biodiesel can be used successfully in various applications. AGQM also provides support in the area of REACH for the new registration of substances, the updating of existing dossiers and the creation of SDSs.
It should therefore be noted that AGQM today offers far more than ‘just’ quality assurance: It presents itself as a modern and flexible service provider for all aspects of biodiesel and its by-products.
We look back on 25 eventful and successful years and look forward to continuing to stand by our members and partners in the future and support them in all matters.
We will be celebrating our milestone anniversary at the Fuels of the Future Congress, which will take place in Berlin from 20 to 21 January 2025, with two presentations on the topics of ‘FAME in shipping - B30 on its way around the world’ and ‘B100 in heavy-duty applications - trucks, buses, mobile machinery’ as well as a diamond partnership including sponsorship of the evening reception on 20 January 2025.
