Start of the Round Robin Tests for Biodiesel and Vegetable & Used Cooking Oils
Registration for the round robin tests of Association Quality Management Biodiesel (AGQM) is now open.
In cooperation with the Technical Committee for Mineral Oil and Fuel Standardization (FAM) in DIN, AGQM offers the round robin tests for biodiesel (fatty acid methyl ester, FAME) and Vegetable & Used Cooking Oils. The round robin test FAME is divided into three parts. FAME Part 1 contains common parameters of the biodiesel standard EN 14214 (those listed in the German 36th BImSchV). FAME Part 2 contains additional parameters such as the methanol content, kinematic viscosity, the flashpoint, and the pour point. The parameter cetane number can be determined in the round robin test FAME Part 3. The round robin test Vegetable & Used Cooking Oils addresses the analysis of oils (DIN 51623 and EN 14214), which is used, for example, for incoming goods inspection.
Registration for the round robin tests is possible until 05th March 2021 at http://rrt.agqm-biodiesel.com.
Round robin tests for laboratories are an important tool to check and improve measurement performance and to identify and avoid possible handling, device, or systematic errors. The participation in the round robin tests can be used also for accreditation of the laboratory.
In addition, participants of the round robin tests have the option of ordering additional sample material, which can be used, for example, for internal reviews, training, or quality control.
