AGQM completes 5th test round for oxidation stabilisers
The working group Quality Management Biodiesel e.V. (AGQM) has completed the fifth test period of the no-harm test for oxidation stabilisers and added additional products to its no-harm list. These demanding tests ensure that chemical and physical properties are not affected by the use of oxidation stabilisers in Biodiesl, that no inadmissible reciprocal effects occurs with other oxidation stabilisers and that security datasheets are available for the additive. more…

Biodiesel tested for sterol glycosides and filterability
AGQM study completed on the content of sterol glycosides and acylated sterol glycosides in vegetable oils and biodiesel In a broad study, the Association Quality Management Biodiesel (AGQM) examined the content of sterol glycosides (SG) and acylated sterol glycosides (ASG) as well as the correlation between the SG and ASG content of biodiesel and its filterability. No correlation could be found between poor filterability and a higher content of SG and ASG. more…

Dioxin content of Biodiesel below limit for foods and animal feed
Due to the Dioxin scandal in Germany at the end of 2010, AGQM initiated the testing of Biodiesel with regard to any Dioxin content. Not only were all levels of the samples tested way lower than the permissible limit for technical products, but in all cases they were also below the significantly lower limits for foods and feed. In most cases the level was even below the quantification limit. more…
